Why can't I check in this flight?

Check-in runs a safety pre-check. Confirm Check-In stays disabled until every required section passes. Here's what each block category means.

Block categories

Category What's wrong
maintenance Aircraft grounded, an open squawk, or an overdue AD
document A required document — like a medical or license — is expired or invalid
endorsement A required endorsement is missing (e.g. complex, high-performance)
night Night-training currency is incomplete
weather Ceiling or visibility is below the student's minimums

A block must be resolved; a warning is advisory and won't stop you.

Common causes

  • Maintenance block — the aircraft can't fly. Pick another tail or get the squawk signed off in Maintenance.
  • Endorsement missing — grant the endorsement first ([[scheduling-manage-endorsements]]).
  • Weather — see [[scheduling-weather-blocking-student-flight]].
  • Required section incomplete — you haven't set the weather Go/No-Go, checked Squawk sheet reviewed, or completed the checklist. These are required only when the matching setting is on ([[scheduling-check-in-and-weather-requirements]]).
  • Outside the check-in window — you're too early or too late. The window is set by check_in_window_minutes_before / ..._after.

If the safety check fails again when you submit, you'll see Safety re-check failed on submit — resolve the issues below and try again.
