How do I check in a flight before it dispatches?

Check-in is the pre-flight gate. It runs a safety pre-check, surfaces maintenance and weather, and records the starting Hobbs and Tach before the aircraft dispatches. The modal is titled Pre-Flight Check-In.

Steps

  1. On the Dispatch Board (or the booking detail), click Check In.
  2. Safety pre-check — HangarOS checks the aircraft and the student. Blocks must be cleared before you can continue; warnings are advisory. See [[scheduling-why-cant-i-check-in]].
  3. Maintenance status — open squawks, maintenance holds, and any grounding ADs on the aircraft show here.
  4. Weather Minimums — the METAR loads for the location. Set the Go/No-Go decision; it reads GO or NO-GO. The decision stays locked until the METAR loads.
  5. Pre-flight checklist — confirm Squawk sheet reviewed and any custom checklist items your school requires.
  6. Hobbs Start / Tach Start — enter the starting readings.
  7. Click Confirm Check-In. The button stays disabled until every required section passes.

What gates the button

Whether weather, squawk review, and the checklist are required is controlled in scheduling settings (require_weather_check, require_squawk_review, require_pre_flight_checklist). See [[scheduling-check-in-and-weather-requirements]].

When the flight returns, close it out — see [[scheduling-check-out-a-flight]].
