How do I offer a waitlist slot to a student?
Students name a preferred slot; you set the final one. Reviewing an entry lets you assign the real aircraft, instructor, and time before the student ever sees it.
Offer a slot
- On Waitlist, find the entry and click Review. The review panel shows the student's preferences alongside a Final assignment form.
- Set the final assignment:
- Location, Aircraft, Instructor (or
No instructor)
- Date, Start, End
- Note to student (optional)
- Offer expires after (hours) — default
24, between 1 and 168
- Click Run preflight & send offer. HangarOS runs the safety pre-check against your final assignment, then sends the offer.
If preflight blocks it
If the assignment fails the safety check you'll see Cannot send offer — preflight blocked it: with the blocks. Fix them — pick a different aircraft, clear the squawk, or adjust the time — and send again.
Rejecting an entry
Click Reject, add an optional Rejection reason (optional, visible to student), and confirm with Confirm reject.
To filter the list, use the status filter: Active, Waiting, Offered, Accepted, Rejected, Expired, Cancelled, or All.
