How do I book a lesson?

How do I book a lesson?

Book a single flight or lesson from the New Booking wizard. It walks five steps: Type → Date & Time → Resource → Instructor → Review.

Steps

  1. From Schedule or Bookings, click New booking.
  2. Type — pick a booking type. Flight types need an aircraft; ground types (ground_lesson, exam, meeting, other) don't. See [[scheduling-booking-types-reference]].
  3. Date & Time — set the Date, Start Time, and Duration. Duration runs from 0.5 h to 4 h.
  4. Resource — for a flight, pick the Aircraft and Location. Ground bookings skip the aircraft.
  5. Instructor — assign a CFI (optional on some types).
  6. Review — HangarOS runs a conflict check here. Hard conflicts block the booking; soft conflicts show as warnings you can book through. If it's clear, click Create booking.

If the booking is rejected

The Review step lists any conflicts — an overlap, a maintenance hold, a grounded aircraft, a calendar block, or an unavailable instructor. See [[scheduling-why-was-my-booking-rejected]] for what each one means.

Who the booking is for

If you can manage bookings (an admin or manager), the wizard shows a Student selector so you can book on a student's behalf. If you can't, the booking is created for you — there's no student picker.
