How do I ask the Document Assistant about my SOPs?

The Document Assistant answers questions from the documents in your Knowledge Base — SOPs, handbooks, and procedures. It quotes and points to your own documents; verify any answer against the cited source before acting on it.

The page header reads AI Document Assistant with the line Ask questions about your SOPs, handbooks, and documents. Access requires the kb:view permission, the AI module, and the Knowledge Base module.

Steps

  1. Open AI → Document Assistant.
  2. The empty chat reads Ask a question about your school documents, SOPs, or procedures.
  3. Type your question (at least 3 characters) into the field placeholder Ask about your SOPs, policies, or procedures… and press the send button. While it runs, the page shows Searching documents… ~3s.
  4. Read the assistant's reply. Alongside the answer you may see:
    • A confidence badge: <level> confidence.
    • Referenced Documents and Suggested Reading chips.
    • A note about the search, and a line such as Searched <n> docs · <n> folders.

Notes

  • There is a daily cap shown as Rate limit · 20 / day.
  • The assistant reads existing documents — it does not write or change them. Open the cited document to confirm before relying on the answer.
