How do I analyze a student's solo and checkride readiness?

Student Progress analyzes a single student's training history and returns readiness scores and recommended focus. The scores and estimates are an assessment to weigh — they are not a clearance to solo or test.

The page header reads AI Student Progress with the line AI-powered analysis of student training progress and readiness. Access requires the training:view permission, the AI module, and the Training module.

Steps

  1. Open AI → Student Progress.
  2. In the Select a student… picker, choose a student.
  3. Click Analyze. While it runs, the page shows Analyzing student progress.
  4. Read the results:
    • Flight hours: Total Hours, Dual Hours, Solo Hours, plus any endorsements.
    • Solo Readiness and Checkride Readiness, each scored out of 10 with a label (Not Ready, Progressing, Nearly Ready, Ready) and an assessment.
    • Average Ratings by Category, Strong Areas, Struggle Areas, and Recommended Focus.
    • Curriculum Progress, Est. Hours to Solo, Est. Hours to Checkride, and an Overall Assessment.
  5. To re-run, click Refresh.

Notes

  • The tool needs at least 5 logged lessons. With fewer, it shows Not enough data yet and explains the student has fewer than the 5 it needs, with a Log a lesson link to the Lesson Report tool.
  • Results may be cached. When they are, the page shows Cached — last analyzed within the past 6 hours with a Refresh link.
  • Readiness scores and hour estimates are suggestions; the instructor and examiner make the actual readiness call.
