How do I add an operating location?
Locations are your operating bases. Each one carries an ICAO ident and a timezone, and the calendar and weather widgets key off them. Manage them at Scheduling → Locations.
Steps
- Open Locations and add a location.
- Fill in the fields:
- Name (required)
- ICAO code (required) — four letters, e.g.
KJFK
- IATA code (optional) — e.g.
JFK
- Timezone (required) — pick the IANA zone for the base
- Address (optional)
- Operating hours start / Operating hours end (
HH:MM)
- Operating days — the weekdays the base runs
- Set one location as primary. The primary location's ICAO drives the default weather lookup on the calendar.
- Save.
Why the timezone matters
Bookings are entered and displayed in the school's timezone, with a per-user toggle to local browser time. The location timezone is what "school time" resolves to — see the timezone toggle in [[scheduling-switch-calendar-views-and-filters]].
ICAO idents always render in mono, uppercase: KJFK, KFAY.
