How do I add an aircraft or other bookable resource?

How do I add an aircraft or other bookable resource?

Resources are the things you book against — aircraft, simulators, and rooms. Add them at Scheduling → Resources.

Steps

  1. Open Resources and add a resource.
  2. Set the Resource Typeaircraft, simulator, briefing_room, classroom, exam_room, or other.
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Name (e.g. a Cessna 172)
    • Identifier — for an aircraft, its registration, e.g. N12345
    • Base Location (required) — links the resource to one of your locations
    • Min booking / Max booking (minutes)
    • Buffer before / Buffer after (minutes) — turnaround time held around each booking
    • Requires approval and In rental pool toggles
    • Hourly rate ($) for rental tracking
    • Color for the calendar
  4. Save. The resource becomes bookable and appears as a lane on the calendar.

Buffers and conflicts

Buffers are enforced by the conflict checker — a booking that lands inside another booking's buffer is flagged as an overlap. See [[scheduling-why-was-my-booking-rejected]].

Tail numbers always render in mono with the N prefix, e.g. N172SP.
