Notification categories and how preferences are stored

This is a reference for the Notifications tab at /dashboard/companies/<companyId>/settings. To change a setting, see [[account-set-notification-preferences]].

Categories

There are four categories, each a single on/off toggle:

Category Covers
Maintenance alerts Squawks raised, inspections coming due, AOG events.
Dispatch events No-shows, late cancellations, instructor swaps.
Training milestones Stage check completion, EOC acknowledgement required.
Billing events Invoice failures, payment retries, subscription changes.

Each category defaults to on for a base until you change it.

Per-base model

Preferences are scoped per base. The tab strip always starts with All bases (default), followed by every active company base by airport code. The All bases tab is the default applied to any base you have not customised. The base list is sourced from the company's active locations, so it shows every active base, not only the ones you are assigned to.

How preferences are stored

Notification preferences are saved in your browser, not on the server. They are stored per browser and per device, so the toggles you set on one browser do not follow you to another browser, another device, or an incognito session, and clearing site data resets them.

Because of this, preferences do not sync across browsers or devices. Set them again on each browser you use. See [[account-troubleshooting-notifications-not-saving]].

Notes

  • The tab requires the company:manage permission (the component also accepts settings:manage).
