How do I see fleet and instructor utilization?

Fleet Utilization analyzes booking activity and returns aircraft and instructor utilization with operational insights. It points out patterns and gaps; you decide how to rebalance.

The page header reads Fleet Utilization with the line Aircraft and instructor utilization analysis. Access requires the maintenance:view permission and the AI module.

Steps

  1. Open AI → Aircraft Utilization.
  2. Click Analyze Fleet. While it runs, the page shows Analyzing fleet utilization… ~10s.
  3. Read the results:
    • Three stat cards: Fleet Size, Total Bookings, and Period.
    • Aircraft Utilization, a per-aircraft percentage bar with an assessment.
    • Booking Heatmap by Weekday, a per-aircraft table (Mon–Sun) with total hours.
    • Instructor Workload bars and a balance note.
    • Peak Times and Quiet Times (busiest/quietest days and hours).
    • AI Insights (each tagged, e.g. underutilized, gap, imbalance, opportunity) with a Recommendation, plus a numbered Recommendations list and a Summary.
  4. To re-run, click Refresh.

  • Results may be cached. When they are, the page shows Cached · last 24h with a Refresh link.
  • Before any analysis exists, the page shows Click "Analyze Fleet" to see utilization insights.
  • The insights and recommendations are suggestions to weigh against your operation.
