How do I change the email I sign in with?
Changing your email is a verified flow. HangarOS first confirms your identity with a code sent to your current email, then confirms ownership of the new address with a second code.
- Go to
/dashboard/account and open the Email tab.
- Your
Current email is shown and locked. Enter the address you want to switch to in New email address.
- Click
Send verification code. A code goes to your current email and the page shows A verification code was sent to your current email to confirm your identity.
- Enter the 6-digit code in
Identity verification code, then click Verify identity. If you did not receive it, use Resend code.
- A second code is now sent to the new address. Enter it in
New email verification code and click Confirm email. The code expires in 10 minutes.
- On success you see
Email updated successfully. Use Change email again if you need to repeat the process.
At any step before confirming you can click Cancel to start over.
Notes
- The
Send verification code button is disabled until the new address differs from your current one.
- If you signed up with Google or Microsoft and have not added a password, manage your sign-in identities under [[security-sign-in-methods]] rather than here.
