How do I void an invoice?

How do I void an invoice?

Voiding cancels an invoice that should not be paid. It is permanent.

Void from the invoice detail

  1. Open the invoice. Voiding is available on invoices with Status open when you have billing:manage.
  2. Select Void Invoice.
  3. Confirm in the dialog. The message reads: Are you sure? This cannot be undone. The invoice for <amount> to <student> will be permanently voided.
  4. Select Void Invoice. On success you get Invoice voided.

Void from the Invoices list

On the Invoices table, open invoices show a void (slash) action with the tooltip Void invoice. The confirmation reads Are you sure you want to void this invoice? This action cannot be undone. On success you get Invoice voided successfully.

You can also void from the invoice slide-over. Its confirmation adds: The student will no longer be able to pay this invoice.

After voiding

The invoice Status becomes void, shown as a Void pill. Voided invoices remain visible in the list and can be filtered with the Void status filter.

  • Only open invoices expose the void action.
  • Voiding cannot be undone.
